I have to commend the staff and doctors of Lake Regional Hospital for their professional and organized reaction to this mass injury accident.

My wife and I were in the emergency room last night for something minor when they brought in the multiple victims of the church bus accident.
I spent 30 years in law enforcement. I was on duty when the Skywalks collapsed in KC so I'm extremely familiar with disaster situations. So I have to commend the staff and doctors of Lake Regional Hospital for their professional and organized reaction to this mass injury accident.
First nurses, doctors and other support staff from X-ray, lab, registration, etc., began pouring in, many coming in from home. Orders were being given calmly and professionally. Teams were being organized and readied for the arrival of the injured. Even security officers were on the scene to maintain order in the waiting area.
We non-critical patients were advised of the situation and moved to the outpatient area where a team of providers responded to continue our medical care and get us discharged.
In closing, I give great accolades to the hospital for being prepared for such an emergency and quickly implementing a plan to manage a mass casualty event.
