A 25-year-old Overland Park, Kansas man has been identified as the drowning victim recovered by a dive team this morning in Lake of the Ozarks.

A 25-year-old Overland Park, Kansas man has been identified as the drowning victim recovered by a dive team this morning in Lake of the Ozarks. 

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol Water Division drowning incident report, Connor W. Mohr had been fishing off a dock at 141 Weems Drive in Morgan County and was reported missing when failing to return. The incident occurred at approximately 8:47 a.m. on July 8, 2017. Next of kin has been notified. 

The victim was reported deceased by Morgan County Coroner Dr. Maynard at 11:53 a.m. Saturday morning and transported to Kidwell Garber Funeral Home. 

A safety device was listed as unknown. 

Initial Report: 

A male in his twenties drowned in Lake of the Ozarks sometime between Friday night and Saturday morning, according to initial reports from a Missouri State Highway Patrol Water Division source. 

MSHP received a call at approximately 8:45 a.m. on Saturday, July 8, 2017 regarding a male believed to have been missing in the water around the 8-mile marker of the Main Channel at the Point at Cape Hollow on the Sunrise Beach side. 

A dive team from Mid-County Fire Protection District arrived on the scene at approximately 11:00 a.m. and began side scan sonar searches of the water. The body was recovered at approximately 11:25 a.m. 

The name of the victim has not been released at this time, pending notification of next of kin and completion of the boating incident report.
