A 21-year-old woman suffered serious injuries, along with a 24-year-old man who suffered moderate injuries in a one-vehicle crash, swerving to avoid a deer early Sunday morning in Miller County.

A 21-year-old woman suffered serious injuries, along with a 24-year-old man who suffered moderate injuries in a one-vehicle crash, swerving to avoid a deer early Sunday morning in Miller County. 

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, Timothy J. Mackenzie was driving a blue Chevrolet Malibu with Sara Y. Hollandsworth as a passenger at approximately 3:45 a.m. on eastbound MO-42, east of MO-132 in Miller County when the crash occurred. 

Mackenzie swerved to avoid a deer, causing the Malibu to travel off the right side of the roadway and strike a tree, according to the report. Both were transported via Mercy Ambulance to Lake Regional Hospital and neither were listed as wearing seat belts. The vehicle was listed as totaled.
