An unknown boat collided with another vessel at approximately 1:30 a.m. last Sunday, injuring both the other driver and passenger, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol boating incident report uploaded on Wednesday.

An unknown boat collided with another vessel at approximately 1:30 a.m. last Sunday, injuring both the other driver and passenger, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol boating incident report uploaded on Wednesday. 

The incident occurred at the 14.5 mile marker of the Main Channel in Camden County on June 25, 2017 when an unknown vessel struck a 2004 Cobalt heading westbound and being piloted by Edwin L. Birnbaum, 54, of Fort Dodge, IA. 

Occupant Lindsey M. Hobson, 22, of Quincy, IL, was transported by Lake Ozark Fire Protection District to Lake Regional Hospital and listed with minor injuries. Birnbaum, also listed with minor injuries, refused medical treatment at the scene, according to the report. Both were listed as wearing safety devices. 

Little information is available regarding the other vessel involved, except that it was listed with extensive damage. The captain was listed as an unidentified male. The Cobalt was listed as totaled and returned to owner's dock.
