The wreck occurred as Lepper swerved the 2005 Ford F150 Lepper he was driving westbound to avoid a slower moving vehicle on Highway 54 approximately one-half mile west of Highway 87, the report states. The pickup overturned and Lepper ejected. The crash report indicated he was not wearing a seatbelt.

A Jefferson City man died in a one-vehicle accident early Monday evening in Miller County.

Mark A. Lepper, 49, was killed around 4:48 p.m. June 26 after the pickup truck he was driving on U.S. Highway 54 overturned and he was ejected. Miller County Coroner Tim Bradley pronounced Lepper dead at the scene at 1648 hours, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.

The pickup was totaled. 

Multiple troopers responded to the wreck as well as the Miller County Sheriff’s Office, Moreau Fire Department and Missouri Department of Transportation.

This fatality was the fifth for the 13-county MSHP Troop F region in June and its 33rd for 2017.
