According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, Matthew B. Ohler was driving southbound at approximately 2:55 p.m. at 1450 Serene Court on June 23, 2017 when the brakes in a 2007 Sterling Acterra cut out while traveling downhill near a condo complex.

Ohler reportedly attempted to swerve to avoid a building which caused the vehicle to overturn resulting in an extensive damage to the truck that was eventually driven from the scene.

Listed as wearing a seat belt, Ohler was transported to Lake Regional Hospital via private conveyance, according to the report.
