A 69-year-old Omaha, Nebraska woman suffered moderate injuries in a wake incident Saturday afternoon on Lake of the Ozarks near the 23-mile marker of the Main Channel.

A 69-year-old Omaha, Nebraska woman suffered moderate injuries in a wake incident Saturday afternoon on Lake of the Ozarks near the 23-mile marker of the Main Channel. 

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol Water Division boating incident report, Linda K. Lichter was traveling southbound as a passenger in a 2009 Cobalt 302 being driven by 63-year-old Charles H. Schwarz of Springfield, Nebraska at approximately 1:15 p.m. on June 10, 2017 when the crash occurred. 

The "crash occurred as operator 1 (Schwarz) failed to keep a proper lookout causing vessel 1 (Cobalt) to strike a large wake" the report stated. 

Lichter, not listed as wearing a safety device, was transported by ambulance to Lake Regional Hospital. Schwarz, also not listed as wearing a safety device, was not listed with any injuries. 

The vessel was listed with extensive damage. The incident type was listed as "collision with fixed object."
