A 2002 37-foot Power Quest 370 sank in the Lake of the Ozarks Monday morning after an engine fire, but all aboard were able to escape to another vessel. Injury information for the incident is unavailable from the Missouri State Highway Patrol Marine Division incident report.

According to the report, the vessel left a cove at the 12 mile marker heading upstream when the operator - Chad D. Stockman, 44, of Lohman, Mo. - smelled smoke. Around 9:30 a.m. May 29, Stockman stopped the boat and looked in the engine compartment where he saw flames coming from the rubber exhaust boot. Occupants of the vessel were unable to extinguish the fire and transferred to another boat.

The Power Quest burned to the water line and sank.

The remains of the vessel will be raised by Tow Boat US, the report stated.
