According to a Camden County Sheriff's Office press release, early the in the morning of Saturday, May 6, Camden County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a residence located on Access Road in Camdenton in reference to a domestic assault.
Upon arrival, they found the victim, a 45 year old female, attempting to get up from a prone position on the floor. Mercy Ambulance personnel were contacted to respond to the scene. Deputies also noticed that there were several items throughout the house broken.
The suspect, James Clinton Weidner, age 51, was discovered in a bedroom of the residence and was taken into custody.
The victim had been badly beaten and kicked about the body and sustained multiple facial and rib fractures, lacerations and contusions. She was transported by ambulance to Lake Regional Hospital and then flown by helicopter to the University of Missouri.
James Weidner is being held at the Camden County Detention Center on $500,000 bond.
