An 87-year-old Sunrise Beach man suffered moderate injuries following a two-vehicle crash caused by a mechanical failure on Friday afternoon in Camden County, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.

An 87-year-old Sunrise Beach man suffered moderate injuries following a two-vehicle crash caused by a mechanical failure on Friday afternoon in Camden County, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report. 

Clifford D. Ryan was driving a 2013 Dodge van westbound at approximately 2:33 p.m. on April 14, 2017 on Route MM at Ridge Circle when his vehicle was struck by an oncoming pickup truck driven by John W. Smith, 61, of Richland. 

According to the report, the 1997 Chevrolet pickup crossed the centerline of the roadway, striking the van. 

Ryan was transported by ambulance to Lake Regional Hospital. Smith was not listed as injured. Both drivers were listed as wearing seat belts as well as both vehicles being listed as totaled.
