A 51-year-old Camdenton man suffered moderate injuries late Saturday morning after striking a deer in Morgan County, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.

A 51-year-old Camdenton man suffered moderate injuries late Saturday morning after striking a deer in Morgan County, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report. 

Sean J. Maher was driving a 2010 Harley Davidson FLHX northbound on Route W, roughly 263-feet south of Hollow Drive, at approximately 11:28 a.m. on April 15, 2017 when the collision occurred. 

According to the report, the motorcycle struck the deer, ejecting Maher who was transported by ambulance to Universal Hospital in Columbia. According to wife Shelli Maher, who commented on the Lake Sun's Facebook page regarding the accident, Maher was taken to U of M and not Jefferson City where he was diagnosed with nine broken ribs and severe road rash.  

He was listed as wearing a safety device and the motorcycle listed as extensively damaged.
