A 2003 Basscat received moderate damage when it was struck by a 14-foot john boat Sunday morning on Lake of the Ozarks.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol incident report, the john boat was traveling downstream when it struck the drifting Basscat at the 66.7 mile marker of the main channel around 8:20 a.m. March 19.

The john boat, which was reported as having no damage, was being operated by Ricky J. Layton, 60, of New Florence, Mo., the Basscat by Dwayne L. Blackwell, 55, of Russellville, Mo.

No injuries were reported.

The incident report indicated neither man was wearing a lifejacket.
