The injured students — Issac L. Lawson, 14, and Jacob W. Whittle, 14 — were not occupants of the Iberia school bus driven by Douglas A. Keeth, 60, of Iberia, but of the other vehicle. The Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report indicates that the boys sought their own treatment for the minor injuries.

Editor's note: This story has been changed to correct the error that the two injured students were riders on the bus when they were in fact passengers in the car that struck the bus. We apologize for the error and any confusion it may have caused.

Two students received injuries described as minor in a school bus accident Thursday morning in the Iberia area.

The injured teens — Issac L.

The report states that the accident occurred as the bus was stopped in traffic in the northbound lane of Route EE just north of Blue Stem Road in Miller County. Children were loading on the bus when a northbound 2008 Hyundai failed to yield and struck the rear of the bus, the report stated.

The Hyundai was driven by Maddy L. Lawson, 16, of Iberia. Lawson was not injured.

The crash report indicated she and the two boys and the bus driver were all wearing seatbelts.

The bus had minor damage while the Hyundai was listed as totaled in the report.

The collision occurred around 7:47 a.m. Feb. 16.
