Morgan County deputies were able to recover a stolen handgun from a residence in the Gravois Mills area. The weapon had been taken from the Buffalo area.

Morgan County deputies were able to recover a stolen handgun from a residence in the Gravois Mills area. The weapon had been taken from the Buffalo area.

According to a press release from the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office, deputies served a search warrant at the residence of Christopher Closterman located on Beautyview Lane, Gravois Mills on Jan. 31. The warrant was issued based on information gained from Closterman after stolen property had been recovered Jan. 19 from an address on Beautyview Lane. 

While searching the residence Jan. 31, deputies located a metal container. Inside the container was a crystal substance that field tested positive as methamphetamine, the press release stated. The substance was weighed, and topped 14 grams. Also inside the container, deputies reportedly located plastic baggies and weight scales as well as the stolen handgun from Buffalo.

Closterman and Heather Johnson were arrested at the residence and transported to the Morgan County Adult Detention Center.

Morgan County Prosecutor Dustin Dunklee charged Heather Johnson with Delivery of Controlled Substance except 35 Grams of Marijuana or Synthetic Cannabinoid {Felony C Rsmo: 579.020} Bond set at $50,000, 10% cash or surety. Dunklee also charged Closterman with:  Delivery of Controlled Substance except 35 Grams of Marijuana or Synthetic Cannabinoid {Felony C Rsmo: 579.020} as well as Stealing a firearm, a class D Felony.  Closterman bond was also set at $50,000 10% cash or surety.
