No injuries were reported by either department, and it appears the structure was vacant at the time of the fire.

At approximately 8:44 p.m. on Feb. 2, 2017, the Brumley Fire Protection District were called to a residential structure fire at the location, about halfway from Iberia and Brumley.

Upon arrival, initial conditions indicated smoke showing, however conditions rapidly deteriorated and soon the home was fully engulfed. Units from Iberia Rural Fire Protection District were called in to assist with suppression and water shuttle.

Iberia responded with two pumper tankers, a tanker and nine firefighters. Tankers assisted with water shuttle while firefighters assisted with fire ground operations, according to a post from Iberia Firefighters.
