Marilyn Carol Delaney, age 66, of Sunrise Beach, passed away Saturday, October 15 at Lake Regional Health System. She was born July 24, 1950 in Riceland, California, a daughter of the late Clarence William and Karen Mae (Sand) Barnett.
She was united in marriage to her surviving husband, Richard Earl Delaney.
Marilyn was a member of the West Lake Christian Church in Laurie. She worked as kitchen manager for the Osage Community Elks Lodge #2705 in Laurie.
In addition to her husband, Richard, she is survived by her children, Frank Mercer of Laurie; Shawna McBrien of Sunrise Beach; and Christopher Rasmussan and wife Crystal of Springfield, Missouri; grandchildren, Quinten, Ryan and Sarah George, Marcus McBrien, Matthew Mercer, Olivia Rasmussan and Melissa McIntire; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Celeste Jones of Missoula, Montana; and many other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Mary Mercer.
Marilyn had a wonderful since of humor. She could always keep you laughing. She appeared to have a tough exterior, but inside was a sweet fun-loving lady. She loved to debate people and often chose an opposing side, just for fun.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, October 23 in West Lake Christian Church, Laurie.
