At approximately 5:15 a.m. Oct. 17 Eldon firefighters responded to the Eldon Airport for a report of an aircraft that landed without its landing gear.

Units arrived on scene to find a single engine air craft that landed on its belly with one uninjured occupant, according to the fire department.

The FAA was contacted and clearance was given to move the air craft. No leaks or other hazards were present and units were able to lift the aircraft with high pressure lifting bags to a height that would allow the landing gear to deploy. The gear successfully locked in position and the aircraft was moved to a secure location on airport property.
