According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, the 2003 Chevrolet 2500 had been northbound on Highway 5 and had stopped to make left turn at Julie Road. The Fusion driven by Selvy was stopped behind the pickup. Then the 2002 GMC Yukon driven by Haley failed to stop, the report states, and it struck the Fusion in the rear, causing it to strike the Chevrolet 2500 pickup.

An Eldridge man was killed in a three-vehicle crash on Highway 5 in Laclede County Monday evening.

Dustin R. Selvy, 34, was pronounced dead on scene by the Laclede County Coroner shortly before 5 p.m. Oct. 17 after the crash at Highway 5 and Julie Road that occurred around 4:22 p.m.

Selvy was the driver of a 2007 Ford Fusion that was northbound on Highway 5. 

The drivers of the other two vehicles involved received minor injuries. Heather D. Lenard, 33, of Lebanon and Alexis L. Haley, 16, of Lebanon were both taken to Lake Regional Hospital for treatment.

The crash report indicates that all three occupants were wearing seat belts.

This was Highway Patrol Troop I’s second fatality for October and its 27th for 2016.
