Every October we host our Annual Meeting and Fall Dinner, which will be held on October 20. We’re honored to be giving out a variety of awards, introducing our new incoming Board Members and our entertainment for the night will be a hypnosis show by Brian Powers!

I still can’t believe October is already here. This year has flown by and we’re certainly staying busy at the Chamber! We had an amazing turn out for our NEW Home, Lifestyle and Sport Show held October 8-9, and we still have some great events coming up.

Another event that is unquestionably important to the business community is our upcoming Eggs & Issues breakfast meeting taking place November 3rd. The topic for this event is “Understanding the Overtime Rule: Changes to the Fair Labor Standards Act”. We recently held a workshop addressing this very topic and had wonderful feedback.

With this new law taking effect Dec. 1, we felt it was important to offer another opportunity to educate our business community. Lastly, we have two great networking socials to finish the year up; please find the full details below and we hope you’ll plan to attend. These socials are a great opportunity to promote your business and meet many new peers.

I hope to see you soon!

Eggs & Issues “Understanding the Overtime Rule: Changes to the Fair Labor Standards Act” – November 3

This Joint Chamber Eggs & Issues event is sponsored by Jennings Insurance Group and the topic will be presented by David Campaini with C. Clarity Consulting along with Cole Bradbury. The purpose of this event is to keep chamber members and the business community informed and up-to-date on information that could affect their business. Now more than ever it’s important that you understand the recent changes in the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Not being aware can hurt you and your organization. Protect your company from costly mistakes and legal blunders by attending our Eggs & Issues Event on November 3rd at the Inn at Grand Glaize from 8am -9:30am. Advanced reservations are required and ticket are $12 for Chamber Members (Lake Area Chamber, Camdenton Chamber or Lake West Chamber) and $20 for Non-Chamber Members. Reserve your spot today by calling the Lake Area Chamber of Commerce at 573-964-1008.
