The most recent move by the Lake of the Ozarks Council of Local Governments is to hire a fiscal officer who will be mainly responsible for getting the council's accounting books back on track.
Margie L. Adams will work on a part-time basis until the end of the year.
Adams' employment is one of many changes recently.
In early spring, the LOCOLG board decided it would take the first steps in a new direction after Camden County filed suit against the council over how it was being run and over a grant from the Environmental Protection Agency for engineering services for a sewer project. Part of that new change included separation from LOCOLG's executive director at the time, James Dickerson. Dickerson had served the position for more than 20 years.
