High blood cholesterol is one of the major risk factors for heart disease. It is also one of the risk factors that you can change or control.
Research has shown that by lowering your blood cholesterol, you will greatly reduce your risk of heart disease.
The program, Eating to Lower Your Blood Cholesterol, is designed to help you understand and use current research and dietary recommendations and help lower your blood cholesterol and triglycerides.
This program will be held on Tuesday, March 9 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Quail’s Nest Hotel meeting room in Osage Beach.
Melissa Bess, MS, University of Missouri Extension nutrition and health education specialist, will present the program.
Topics will include heart-healthy food choices that help lower blood levels of cholesterol and triglycerides, cooking methods and substitutions to use in favorite recipes, and dietary supplements which may be beneficial.
The registration fee is $5 per person. Pre-registration is required one week prior to the date of the class.
To register or for additional information, please contact the Camden County Extension Office at 573-346-2644 or e-mail Melissa at bessmm@missouri.edu.
