Lake Media is looking for the 10 most extraordinary women in business for 2009. Women who exemplify the entrepreneurial spirit and dedication it takes to succeed in today’s business world.
The Lake Media family of publications is taking nominations for the 10 most influential women in business in Camden, Miller and Morgan counties.
From Oct. 15 to Nov. 15, Lake Media will accept nominations for the Women in Business awards. A panel of judges representing the business community will choose the top 10 women.
| Rules • Nominees must be at least 21 years of age and reside in Camden, Miller or Morgan counties. • Nominees must be actively engaged in business and have a presence in the community • Nominees must own or work for a business registered and operating in Missouri. • Nominees must exhibit leadership, strong ethical and moral values, innovation and extraordinary vision. • Nominee must have exhibited managerial savvy in the growth and operation of business. • Nominations must be received no later than midnight on Nov. 15. • A one-page application must accompany all nominations along with a one-page essay describing the nominee and their accomplishments. • Nominees will be limited to selection to the top 10 once every five years. • Nominees can be submitted by their peers or themselves. |
The nominees will be featured in the January-February edition of Lake Lifestyles magazine with a cover photo shoot and feature story highlighting their accomplishments. The top 10 will be honored at a recognition ceremony and cocktail party where the cover of the Lake’s Top 10 Women in Business issue will be unveiled. The Top 10 Women in Business is in recognition of Lake Lifestyle’s 10-year anniversary celebration.
| The judges A panel of seven judges representing the business community and Lake Media will review all the nominations and select the top 10 women. Judges can not be on the staff of any business woman who is nominated nor can they be paid as a contractor by any nominee’s company. Employees of Lake Media are prohibited from being nominated for the honor. |
“We are looking for women who are making a difference in the business community,” Lake Media Publisher John Tucker said. “We want to recognize their contributions to the Lake area. The Women in Business will be sponsored annually by the Lake Media.”
