Cow-nappers caught and brought to justice. We’re dumbfounded that someone would actually sink so low as to rob a nativity scene. Thieves carted off a wooden cow and broke a sheep, leaving it headless. The parks director pleaded for the wooden cow’s return, ‘no questions asked.’ We prefer to see the thieves caught and punished, perhaps by having to mow the Hillbilly Fairgrounds on all fours like a cow would. Thieves, you can take the director’s offer or be met by ours. Someone, somewhere, knows what you did or has seen the pilfered prize - it’s just a matter of time. Get moooo-ving!

Sewerless homes at Camelot attended to like somebody’s back end was on fire. We’re not sure what’s worse, being left off the lines after they had paid to be hooked up or the run-around they’ve received from the fingerpointers in charge. It’d be nice to see someone accept responsibility and fix what you started.

AG Chris Koster to stop joining lawsuits with large corporations and start defending Missouri’s resources. First it was a mining outfit in a suit against a Lake of the Ozarks wastewater treatment plant, now it’s a CAFO that wants to locate near the historic Arrow Rock site. Seems obvious whose side he’s on. What a shame.

Everyone to find a veteran and thank them. Veterans day officially is Wednesday, Nov. 11. But that doesn’t mean every day shouldn’t be a good day to find a veteran to thank them for the freedom we have in this country.

Anyone who chooses to burn leaves this weekend  to call their fire department or district for burn permit first. Our fire professionals will be closely monitoring conditions throughout the weekend. Warm temperatures, low humidity and strong winds have the potential spell out a very clear word: F-I-R-E-S-T-O-R-M.
