After a shaky start, Laurie's Joe Poretta finished his round at Sycamore Creek Golf Club rather satisfied.
"It was tough at first but we came back and managed to break even," said Poretta, who represents Indian Rock Golf Club.
The players in the Men's Senior Intercity Golf League took on Sycamore Creek in Osage Beach Wednesday morning.
After a golf outing that lasted more than five hours, Osage Beach's Bill Pemberton took a relaxing sigh as he concluded his day amid hot and humid conditions.
"I think everyone played well overall, some good and some bad... that's the way it should be," Pemberton said.
Sunrise Beach's Jim Nielsen said he couldn't consistently find the fairway during his round.
"It just goes right, left, right, left," he said. "Every time I turn around, it seems like I’m in the rough."
Said Laurie’s Bob Foster: “I think I did a lot better last week than I am today.”
