The Laurie Enchanted Village of Lights is open now through Jan. 1 at the Laurie Fairgrounds on Fairgrounds Rd. off Highway 5. Hours are 5-9 p.m. Sundays-Thursdays and 5-10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.

Kick off the holiday season with some small town cheer in the City of Laurie.

On the Saturday after Thanksgiving, Nov. 25, the 16th annual Lake West Chamber of Commerce Lighted Christmas Parade will begin at 6 p.m. and travel up Highway 5 from Central Bank to Laurie Terrace Mall.

Santa Claus himself is promising to make an appearance and will disembark the parade at the mall to visit with kids. After getting your wish list in with the man in red, check out the beautiful drive-through holiday light parks in town.

The Festival of Lights, hosted by St. Patrick’s Catholic Church on the north side of town on Highway 5, will also open for the season Nov. 23. It will light up the holidays each night through Jan. 1 as well.

This drive-through display is open from dark until 10 p.m. every day. There is also a gift shop by the display on church grounds. It is open Thursdays-Sundays and serves free hot chocolate and apple cider.
