The Lake of the Ozarks Woodcarvers Club sponsored a relief carving seminar in September taught by John Engler from Springfield. It was held at Community of Christ Church, Camdenton. John teaches all over the country and is known for his relief carvings of beautiful landscape scenes and animal scenes.

The students began by selecting their board with the scene printed on it – from scenes of old gas stations to lighthouses and more. John helps each student shape and texture the different components of the picture – rock formations, trees, bushes, roads, creeks, mountains, and building sidings. The projects were beautiful scenes when finished.

The club is also holding a raffle, a whole showcase of carved snowmen. You can view and purchase tickets at Bill’s Art Center and Gallery in Camdenton. Proceeds will go to two children’s charities in the area.
