Local artist and Lake Arts Council Visual Arts Vice-President Mary Andeline invites the public to view the exhibit and purchase or commission fine artwork.

Described as a fine art extravaganza, “Art for the Seasons” features fine artwork by local and nationally-known artists as well as the opportunity to explore some of the amenities of Porto Cima.

The overwhelming success of the art exhibit last fall held at the Porto Cima Clubhouse led the owners, Susan and Peter Brown, to offer the more spacious and well lighted areas of the Yacht Club and grounds this year.

The event will be Sept. 16 and 17 at The Club at Porto Cima Yacht Club, Club House Drive, Sunrise Beach. A reception with the artists will also be held Sept. 15.

Local artist and Lake Arts Council Visual Arts Vice-President Mary Andeline invites the public to view the exhibit and purchase or commission fine artwork.

All art work will be original, framed and wired ready for hanging unless they are gallery wrapped board or canvas, according to Andeline, who added, “last year there was an unusually high amount of sales which is a testament to the quality and affordability of the art pieces.”

Others in attendance heard a patron say that she had attended many art shows throughout the Midwest and pronounced this one as the “classiest and most organized.”

In addition to viewing the full exhibit of fine art on Saturday and Sunday, Porto Cima is hosting a “Meet and Greet the Artist “celebration at the Golf Clubhouse, 133 Club House Drive, on Friday from 6-8 p.m. Food and wine will be offered by the hosts at a special exhibit price throughout the weekend.

Proceeds from the entry fees will benefit both the Lake Arts Council to further its educational and enlightening art programs held year round throughout the lake area and the Ozark Brush and Palette Student Mentoring Program. Donations for each organization will also be gratefully accepted.

The public viewing for the “Art for the Seasons” exhibit is 11 a.m.-6:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 17. The Porto Cima Yacht Club facility is easy to find by exiting Highway MM at Porto Cima Drive, then taking a right turn at the first intersection to the Yacht Club.

Attendees may also come by boat as docks are available at the marina located in the cove between the Porto Cima Golf course and the community toll bridge.

The entry deadline for artists was officially Aug. 1, but if you missed it, there still might be space available. Please contact Mary Andeline for that information or any other questions regarding the art exhibit at 573-374-9297 or email at maryandeline@yahoo.com.
