The Lake Arts Council and the Lake Area Camera Club present Photo Quest 2017.
Taking place annually for more than a decade and receiving more than 200 entries last year, this photography contest and exhibit gives amateur photographers, who earn less than $500 per year annually from photography excluding contest winnings, an opportunity to exhibit their art and receive recognition for their work.
The Camera Club accepted entries through July. Film and digital photography are equally welcome.
The categories for this year are: Wildlife and Nature; Abstracts and Story Telling; Landscapes and Scenics; Still Life and Florals; and Architecture and Machines.
The contest is open to anyone 17 years of age and older. Prizes will be awarded in cash and ribbons to Best of Show, $100; first place in each category, $50; second place in each category, $25; and third place and honorable mentions receive ribbons.
Three judges, who are in no way connected to the Council or the Camera Club, will award winners. An awards ceremony will be at 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 12 at Stone Crest Mall in Osage Beach.
