The 4th annual 9/11 Freedom Run 5K will start at 8 a.m. at JJ Twig’s on Bagnell Dam Blvd. The King’s Academy preschool and elementary school will also host its first Running of the Knights 5K Run/Walk and 1-mile Fun Run.
Run for the Fallen, Aug. 12
The Camdenton Area Chamber of Commerce hosts the run/walk at the Camdenton R-3 School District starting at 9 a.m. Run For the Fallen is a national memorial run that will collectively run/walk one mile for every service member killed during Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.
Remembrance runs are held around the U.S. with the only one in Missouri held at Lake of the Ozarks. This event pays special tribute to the 142 Missouri fallen soldiers. 9/11 Freedom Run, Sept. 9
The 4th annual 9/11 Freedom Run 5K will start at 8 a.m. at JJ Twig’s on Bagnell Dam Blvd. The 5K will be open to runners and walkers and will include chip timing. Each runner/walker will participate in memory of a FDNY Firefighter that lost their life on Sept. 11, 2001 at the World Trade Center. There will be refreshments and door prizes.
Registration is $20. The event raises money for the Lake Ozark Fire Protection District’s Shop with a Fireman Program which takes children for a ride in a firetruck to go Christmas shopping. For more information, go to 4th annual 9/11 Freedom Run 5K on Facebook.
Running of the Knights, Sept. 10
The King’s Academy preschool and elementary school will be holding its first Running of the Knights 5K Run/Walk and 1-mile Fun Run. The Fun Run starts at 2 p.m. and the 5K will begin at 2:30 at Christ the King Church in Lake Ozark. Race-day registration opens at 12:30 p.m.
