Sunrise Beach artist Bill Manion's 2016 painting "Discombobulated was featured at the Wine and Art Show held on Saturday.
Les Bourgeois Vineyards in Rocheport, Mo. hosted area wine enthusiasts and art lovers to the expansive Tasting Room & Winery for an afternoon of fine art and wine from 2-6 p.m. on Saturday, July 15.
Guests were among the first to sample and purchase the 20 first annual Collector’s Series vintages with complimentary barrel tastings. This year’s series includes 2016 Traminette, 2015 Barbera, and the 2015 Syrah.
In addition to their fine quality, what makes these wines ‘collectible’ are their labels. Each bottle features a winning entry to the annual Collector’s Series art competition held in conjunction with the Columbia Art League. Winning entrants in this year’s Collector’s Series Art Competition are:
•Bill Manion of Sunrise Beach, Missouri with "Discombobulated"
•Renee Shay of Lincoln, Nebraska with "Ready for a Night Out"
•Scott Kronk of Fulton, Mo. with "Struggle for Beauty II"
The annual Collector’s Series wines allow the winemakers to showcase their artistic creativity with small batch fermentations. This series is made with only the best grapes and is considered the highest quality and most unique wine released this year.
During the July 15 event, the artists will have collections of their artwork for show and sale. Guests had the opportunity to meet the winemakers, enjoy a selection of appetizers, and treated to live music.
