The 11th annual Lake Area Master Garden Walk planned from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, June 3 is the group’s primary source of funding for scholarships to benefit area high school seniors.

This year, LAMG has five different gardens to visit near Highway 5 or 7 in the Greenview area of the lake.

There is a variety of gardens: High Tunnel & Raised Bed Gardens is at the Share the Harvest Food Pantry; Tranquil Woods Retreat has created five special gardens to include a rain garden, a fairy garden and more; Lakeside Gardens has created five gardens on a hillside with many varieties of plants; Garden at Kensu Park, discover making your own soil, and propagation of many tropical plants; Permaculture Gardens, this organic gardener combines many native plants with vegetable garden plants.

Goals for LAMG include teaching the public about gardening in the Ozarks as well as about benefits to the environment.

Tickets may be purchased from any LAMG member and all Bank of Versailles, Central Bank and any First National Bank locations.

Tickets will also be available the day of the tour on any of the garden locations. Tickets are $10 each, and the Garden Walk will be held rain or shine.

LAMG’s will be on hand to provide information about each site with information about new ideas for your own garden.

Proceeds go to a scholarship fund sponsored by LAMG, STAFF and toward a demonstration garden at the Willmore Lodge in Lake Ozark.
