The Muscular Dystrophy Association awarded Susan and Peter Brown of Lake Ozark with an appreciation plaque for their 20 years of support of the International Association of Fire Fighters 2nd District MDA Kick-Off event.
Susan and Peter's son, Dave Brown, is the 2009 Missouri 2nd District MDA State Coordinator.
This year marked the 20th anniversary of the IAFF 2nd District/ MDA Kick-Off, which was held May 15 and 16 at the Lodge of Four Seasons.
IAFF members from all over the 2nd district area came together for this one special weekend to officially "kick-off" MDA's Fill-The Boot campaign.
The event consisted of an evening reception, awards presentations, motivational speakers and gave IAFF members a chance to swap ideas on how to raise more money for the 2009 MDA Fill-The-Boot fundraiser campaign.
Last year Lake Area Fire Fighters Association Local # 3987 raised more than $16,000 for MDA.
