Staff Sergeant Ryan Green of Rocky Mount was awarded top honors by the 18th Airborne Corps commander in a ceremony at Fort Bragg’s Memorial Hall. Green was awarded the 18th Airborne Corps Noncommissioned Officer of the Year.
He will now represent the corp in the Army-wide competition.
Green serves as a Platoon Sergeant of a Launcher Platoon with Alpha Battery 3rd Battalion (Airborne), 4th Air Defense Artillery Regiment. Green has been in the military for seven years and has been deployed in support of OIF and OEF.
Green is qualified in Combat Lifesaver Course and Combatives Level One.
He is married with three children and is currently pursuing a Bachelors of Science degree in criminal justice. His interests are in mechanics and short term goals are to attend Ranger School and Drill Sergeant School.
His long term goals are to become a Command Sergeant Major and complete a Master’s Degere in criminal justice.
