A Sunrise Beach man is in custody with no bond allowed on multiple drug charges, a probation violation and resisting arrest. Jason A. Cumper, 29, was arrested shortly after midnight on March 6 after a brief chase on State Route 5.


According to the Camden County Sheriff's Department, Cumper tried to outrun  deputies who were trying to stop him for speeding.While in pursuit, deputies saw something fly out the window of the car.

While one car followed Cumper, a second deputy stopped and retrieved the package. Inside was what appeared to be a stash of methamphetamine, cocaine, prescription drugs and syringes.  

Cumper is charged with 2 counts of Distribute Controlled Substances, 1 County of Possession of Controlled Substances with Intent to Distribute, 1 count of Resist/Interfere with Arrest, and 1 Parole Violation.  No bond is allowed by the Court.  A court date of March 10 has been set in the Associate Circuit Court of Camden County.
