The Lodge of Four Seasons hosts Golf Channel Tour event

The Golf Channel Amateur Tour made a stop at The Lodge of Four Seasons for the first ever Lake of the Ozarks Golf Classic; one of the Tour's ‘Major’ tournaments on April 21- 22, 2012. The Lodge hosted the two-day event at The Cove and The Ridge with 180 players from 25 different states and Canada.

Being prepared for an emergency is still on the minds of officials in the Village of Four Seasons.

Firefighters respond to Lodge of Four Seasons for smoke investigation

Firefighters from the Lake Ozark Fire Protection District responded to the Lodge of Four Seasons on Horseshoe Bend this morning for a report of smoke filling the fourth floor atrium near the Granada Ballroom. Automatic agency assistance was automatically toned out, but called off shortly after.

Rain barrel giveaway at tonight's LOWA meeting


The Lake of the Ozarks Watershed Alliance (LOWA) will hold its monthly meeting tonight beginning at 6:30 p.m. The meeting is at the Country Club Hotel and Spa located on Carol Road in Lake Ozark.

Severe thunderstorm risk continues tonight for Lake of the Ozarks

Lake of the Ozarks will still see more rain today and into Sunday as a supercell thunderstorm moves through the area.
Isolated to widely-scattered thunderstorms are possible through this afternoon. The main threat with these storms will be frequent lightning strikes, brief heavy rainfall and possible hail up to the size of nickels.
Wind speeds are expected to be in the 15 to 25 mph range, according to National Weather Service out of Springfield meteorologists, with wind gusts up to 35 mph. These winds will create hazardous boating conditions on area lakes.

60 firefighters battle Lodge blaze

Nearly 60 firefighters from across Lake of the Ozarks were called to the scene of the Lodge of Four Seasons for a fire Wednesday night.

Board meets in new building

The Village of Four Seasons held its first board of trustees meeting in its new digs recently, but did so without any air conditioning or carpeting.

2nd annual Guns and Hoses game

The second annual Guns and Hoses charity basketball game pitted officers with the Lake Ozark Police Department (in blue) against officers from the Lake Ozark Fire Protection District (in red). The LOFPD won 69-28. The bigger prize is the money raised for each department's charity of choice. The LOPD played for Citizens Against Domestic Violence/Victim Outreach Center (CADV/VOC) and the Scarlett Heart Foundation. The Scarlett Heart Foundation is a charity established to assist with the medical and specialty needs of children of first responders. The LOFPD’s portion will be used to help fund the department’s Shop with a Fireman program.

11 year old treated for meth exposure, parents arrested

An 11-year-old girl is being treated for exposure to a methamphetamine lab her parents had erected inside the house.

The 2012 Lake Lifestyles' Best of the Lake — This readers poll allows you to vote for your favorite businesses, services, food, personalities and entertainment at Lake of the Ozarks. The ballot will be available February 17.

Village of Four Season signs with Camden County Sheriff's Office

Both the Village of Four Seasons and the Four Seasons Lakesites Property Owners Associations have extended agreements with the Camden County Sheriff's Office for law enforcement protection in 2012.

Lake of the Ozarks sees first snow of 2012, few problems

First responders say there were only a few minor accidents and reports of vehicles sliding off the road during 2012's first snowstorm.
The storm isn't over yet, however.
A winter weather advisory will remain in effect for the Lake of the Ozarks area until 6 p.m. for falling and blowing snow.

Lake of the Ozarks Eagle Days

The annual Lake of the Ozarks Lake of the Ozarks Eagle Days was held Jan. 7 and 8 at three separate locations in Lake Ozark. Attendees gathered for eagle spotting, activities and presentations by the World Bird Sanctuary, located in St. Louis, Mo.

No Burn Day throughout Lake of the Ozarks


Lake area fire districts and departments have ceased issuing burn permits on Friday due to weather conditions.
Humidity levels were below 30 percent combined with wind gusts up to 25 mph make conditions unfavorable for open burning.

The newest group of Lake Media's Top 10 Women of the Year will be honored during a reception January 4, 2012 at the Country Club Hotel and Spa.

Lake of the Ozarks Christmas Parade

Santa and Mrs. Claus took center stage during the annual Lake of the Ozarks Christmas Parade on Saturday, Dec. 10. Crowds lined Bagnell Dam Boulevard in Lake Ozark to see the couple and their helpers in the shiny red sleigh. The parade also featured dozens of floats, cars, horses and the School of the Osage High School Marching Band. After the parade, there were family-friendly activities on the Bagnell Dam Strip.

As temps drop, rule protects from heat shut-off

A statewide rule protecting utility company customers from disconnection when the temperature dips below freezing is in force effective today.
The Missouri Public Service Commission’s Cold Weather Rule runs from Nov. 1 to Mar. 31, 2012. The rule prevents investor-owned utilities from cutting off service during the winter months when the termperature drops below 32 degrees.
The Cold Weather Rule relates to any residential gas or electric service that is necessary to the proper function and operation of heating equipment.
