Two Eldon men were arrested after an argument escalated to one of them throwing a rock through a nearby window.
According to a news release issued by the Eldon Police Department, officers were out on patrol around 12:15 Wednesday morning when the incident happened.
The officers observed the two subjects yelling at each other in the front yard of an Eldon yard. As one of the officers approached, he saw one of the men pick up a rock and throw it. The rock crashed through the window of the residence breaking it, according to the news release.
As officers got closer, the two men fled the scene on foot.
After a short foot chase, Eldon officers took the two men into custody for burglary in the first degree. A further investigation revealed the two were also involved in a theft that had occurred at an Eldon business on or about February 8.
Both men were taken to the Miller County Jail where they are being held.
The Eldon Police Department was assisted by the Miller County Sheriff's Office.
Arrested:
• Brandon Phelps, of Eldon, charged with Burglary in the first degree and Tampering in the first degree. Bond set at $75,000.
• Justin Hook, of Eldon, charged with Burglary in the first degree. Bond set at $50,000.
