Four different agencies were called in to help with a late-night emergency call to help a woman stranded on a storage silo get to safety.
A woman was rescued from the top of the silo at Scott’s Concrete plant in Climax Springs after firefighters from a nearby station heard her calling for help.
Although the details are sketchy, for some reason the woman had climbed up the ladder to the top of the silo more than 40 feet in the air.
Before she could get back down, she apparently started having chest pains and suffering from shortness of breath.
Unable to climb back down, she was stranded on the silo until her calls for help were heard.
Northwest Fire Protection District rescue crews were able to get to the woman and load her on a backboard while the Mid-County Fire Protection District was en route with its ladder truck.
Using the ladder truck, firefighters were able to bring her down off the silo.
She was transported to Lake Regional Hospital for treatment by Camden Ambulance.
According to the sheriff’s department, the call came in around Tuesday evening around 9.
The victim’s name was not released.
