Dance Assocation to host Christmas Holiday Ball
Interested in ballroom dancing?  The Lake Area Dance Association will be hosting their Christmas Holiday Ball on Saturday, Dec. 13, from 7-10 p.m. in the Family Life Center at the Community Christian Church, 1064 N. Business Route 5 in Camdenton.    Dance to the big band sound of the Lake Jazz Band.  The cost is $10 per person to the general public; dance association members are free for this dance.  Bring a snack to share.  Singles and couples are welcome.  Come join the fun and dance waltz, fox trot, cha-cha, swing or just enjoy the music of a live band.

The Lake Area Dance Association sponsors dances throughout the year and promotes dancing in the lake area.

Releve’ dancers’ performance raises fund for CADV
The Releve' dancers are giving back during their holiday recital this year. During "Hope for the Holidays," dancers will be performing an improvisational dance as a fundraiser for Citizens Against Domestic Violence, CADV.

In order to be in the dance, dancers must receive $25 each in donations during intermission. If they meet their sponsorship goal, they will perform in the dance during the second half of the recital. Baked goods will also be on sale for a $1.

The studio hopes to reach its goal of raising $1,000 for CADV.
The recital will be held at the Camdenton High School auditorium on Dec. 13 and 14 at 2 p.m.

Swing Dance Club hosts Christmas, New Year’s dances
The Lake of the Ozarks Swing Dance Club will host its Sleigh Bells Dance on Saturday, Dec. 20 in the Palazzo Room at the Country Club Hotel (Carol Road off of Horseshoe Bend Parkway).  A lesson will be provided at 7 p.m. with dancing from 8 to 11 p.m.  The lesson is free with a paid admission to the dance.  Non-members and guests are $10 per person for the dance.  

They will also host a New Year’s Eve Dance on Wednesday, Dec. 31, in the Palazzo Room at the Country Club Hotel.  Dancing 8 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.  Non-members and guests are $20 per person for the dance.  Admission includes party favors, two free drinks, and champagne toast at midnight.  Dinner specials are available in Rafferty’s at the Country Club Hotel prior to the dance.  Call (573) 964-2200 for dinner details and reservations.

For both dances, a mix of music is played (swing, cha cha, country, nightclub two step, and others).  There is a cash bar.  Couples and singles are welcome to attend.  Come join in the fun.

The Lake of the Ozarks Swing Dance Club also provides a free weekly lesson and open dancing each Thursday at Heroes Sports Saloon in Osage Beach.  The free lesson begins a 6:30 p.m. and dancing at 7:30 p.m.  There will be not be a free lesson on Thursdays, Dec. 25 and Jan. 1, 2015.
