It was a record year at the 13th annual Citizens Against Domestic Violence brunch, held at the Lodge of Four Seasons on October 15. Approximately 450 people attended the event which raised $20,000 to help fund programs and services offered to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault in the organization's service areas. All the money raised stays in the Lake area. The brunch is CADV's largest fundraiser of the year.
“What an outstanding show of support for CADV. We are honored that so many people were able to attend and help us raise money to continue our mission in the Lake area,” CADV executive director Angie Fiene said.
The theme for the 14th annual brunch in 2015 is Favorite Musical.
CADV would like to thank all of the restaurants, sponsors, volunteers and partners that made the brunch a success. About 20 Lake area restaurants provided food for the event.
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and in addition to the brunch, another fundraiser is being held this month for CADV. Paul's Supermarket is selling purple ribbon cards at the cash register at all three Lake locations. Any dollar amount is accepted and the card is added to a wall of donors to help raise awareness. Stop by the Eldon, Lake Ozark or Osage Beach location to purchase a ribbon.
