  • This week, the Northwest Fire Protection District welcomed a new chaplain, Martin Gipe.
The previous chaplain, Earl Doores, passed away earlier in the year, and Martin has graciously agreed to take on the task.
An eleven year resident of the Climax Springs area, Gipe is currently serving as the pastor of Calvary Baptist Church on Highway 7. Martin is married and has three grown children.
At the NWFPD meeting last Thursday, Martin opened the meeting with a prayer, and he informed the board of director and the firefighters in attendance of his availability to the district personnel on a 24-7 basis.
