The Camdenton Laker softball team visited the Glendale Falcons on Thursday, Aug. 28, and left with a 20-0 win after four innings of play.

Kylie Compton pitched four shutout innings, striking out seven while issuing one walk and allowing only one hit.

Among the offensive leaders were Kristen Carpenter, who went 2 for 2, stole two bases and scored three runs. Jillian Selander went 3 for 3 with a double, scored three runs and stole three bags. Compton went 2 for 2 and drove in three runs. Danielle Ballard went for 2 for 3 with a double and also plated three runs. Kelsey Davis went 2 for 2 with an RBI.

Camdenton’s JV team also won its first game of the season 10-3 in five innings.

The Lakers will hit the road again on Tuesday, Sept. 2, when they will put their perfect 6-0 record to the test visiting West Plains.

“We are getting into the hard part of our schedule now. It just snowballs from here in intensity and toughness. We will be facing lots of quality teams that will help us to prepare for our goal of being district championships,” Camdenton head coach Rick Calbert said.
