  • Preschool teacher wins Relay for Life quilt raffle

  • The local Relay quilt was a project by Hillbilly Hero Susann Huff. She hand-made the special commemorative Relay for Life quilt which includes many of the different types of cancer that the event helps to fight against.

  • The Hillbilly Hero's Relay for Life Quilt Raffle was won my Angie Biggers. She is the preschool teacher at Hurricane Deck Elementary School in Sunrise Beach.
    Hillbilly Hero's, a team in Relay for Life of Morgan County, raised over $1,300 with the raffle, bringing the total for 2014 to close to $30,000.
    As a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society, Relays across the country support cancer research and education as as help the ACS provide local support to cancer patients and programs.
    The local Relay quilt was a project by Hillbilly Hero Susann Huff. She hand-made the special commemorative Relay for Life quilt which includes many of the different types of cancer that the event helps to fight against. Quilting was done by Laurie resident Sue Purdon.
