  • A Roach toddler was killed in a one-vehicle accident about 5:15 p.m. Aug. 23 on West Branch Road at the Camden County/Hickory County line.

  • A Roach toddler was killed in a one-vehicle accident about 5:15 p.m. Aug. 23 on West Branch Road at the Camden County/Hickory County line.
    Kaygyn J. Dority, 2, was a passenger in a 2006 Ford pickup driven by Blair N. Dority, 30, also of Roach.
    Six other occupants of the pickup were injured. None of the occupants was wearing a seat belt.
    Madison N. Vaught, 6, of Roach, was taken by Staff for Life to Mercy Hospital in Springfield with serious injuries; Blaine R. Skinner, 32, of Macks Creek, was taken by private transportation to Lake Regional Hospital with moderate injuries; Micah Schmidt, 16, of Macks Creek, sought his own treatment of minor injuries; Stormy L. Skinner, 3, sought her own treatment of minor injuries; Michael B. Vaughn, 7, of Roach, sought his own treatment of minor injuries; and Shelby R. Willis, age unknown, of Macks Creek, sought her own treatment of minor injuries.
    The accident occurred as the truck went off the left side of the roadway, struck a tree and overturned.
    Kaygyn was pronounced dead at the scene by Camden County Medical Examiner Stephanie Dominique at 6:50 p.m.
    Dority was charged with six counts of felony assault in the second degree and one count of involuntary manslaughter, Her bond has been set at $150,000 cash only.
