Don’t miss the chance to visit Captain Ron’s during the Shootout. It really does have something for everyone. Voted “Best of the Lake” in Lake Lifestyles magazine, Captain Ron’s has received multiple awards over the years including Best Dining on the Water, Best Entertainment on the Water and Best Bartender - Justin, as well as Best Annual Event for the Shootout.
Kids can enjoy the bounce house and playground during the day while adults kick back and listen to one of the regional or local bands that perform regularly at Captain Ron’s.
Pull up one of the brightly-colored lounge chairs on the shore and relax in the sun but keep at least one eye open as Captain Ron’s is a great people-watching scene especially during the Shootout and the other major events it hosts throughout the year.
Remember to keep your cool, though, during the often scorching temps of August in the Ozarks. Head to one of the beach-side tiki bars for a drink and a little shade. Or make your way to the main bar inside for an AC break. We won’t judge if you want to stop for a selfie with the pirate captain near the entrance.
If you’re feeling more energetic - and, ok, maybe a little competitive - round up some friends for a few rounds of beach volleyball at one of the two sand courts onsite.
If you’re hungry, opt in for one of the restaurant’s appetizing seafood specialties or classic dinners, and enjoy your meal indoors or out. Dinner on the deck will give you a great view out over the cove.
And before you leave make time for a stop at the Treasure Chest Gift Shop to take home some fun souvenirs to remind you of sunshine and good times at Lake of the Ozarks.
