  • It is unknown at this time what caused a collision in Lake Ozark involving two vehicles, one of which became engulfed in flames on impact Tuesday.
Around 11:45 a.m. on August 19, a two-vehicle accident occurred in front of Menard's in Lake Ozark. According to Lake Ozark Police officials, the incident involved a pick up truck and a four door passenger car. Officials say the pick up appeared to have rear-ended the passenger vehicle causing it to become fully engulfed.
Before officers could arrive on the scene, residents who witnessed the incident removed two elderly females from the fully involved car. One of the females resides in Montreal while the other resides in Roach.
Soon after, officers arrived and moved the patients further from the scene and took over patient care.
Fire departments also arrived on scene and recount seeing black smoke on the horizon as they neared the incident.
All three individuals involved in the crash — two females from the car and the male driving the truck — were transported to Lake Regional Hospital for treatment. The male driving the pick up truck resides in Montreal.
The scene was cleared by 12:01 p.m.
Lake Ozark Fire, Osage Beach Fire, Miller County Ambulance, Camden County Sheriff Department and the Missouri Department of Transportation all assisted with this incident.
