  • An Eldon woman has died following a two-vehicle collision on Highway 54 Aug. 15.
Camilla Wilson, 70, was driving a 2014 Hyundai in the eastbound lanes of Highway 54 near Mead's Flat when her vehicle travelled into the path of a 2007 Peterbilt semi-truck driven by Gilbert Davis, 41, of Dover, Ark.
The front of the semi struck the rear of Wilson's vehicle, which came to rest on both eastbound lanes on Highway 54. Wilson was pronounced dead by Miller County Coroner Rick Callahan at 6:50 p.m. Wilson's body was taken to Rekus Funeral Home in Eldon. A passenger in Wilson's vehicle, Luella Campbell, 76, of Kaiser, sustained serious injuries and was flown to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment.
    Davis was uninjured.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, Wilson, Campbell and Davis were all wearing seat belts at the time of the collision.
This is Troop F's fourth  fatality in August and 45th in 2014.
