  • Sometimes social media can be used for good. That is exactly what one Camdenton Middle School student proved last week. When asked to find some students to help teacher Heather Sappington move into the Family and Consumer Science classroom, Gabe Kurtz went to Snap Chat.
The mobile phone app allows individuals to take photos and send out quick messages to friends. Within minutes, eleven students arrived to help the teacher move from one area of study to another.
"They showed up to help me get ready for the new year," Sappington said. "I did not expect this many kids."
Students ranged from Oak Ridge to middle school and high school students. They helped Sappington clean out cabinets, wash dishes, organize and more.
