The Camdenton R-III School board recently voted to keep the total tax levy the same that it has been for years. Superintendent Tim Hadfield recommended that the board vote to keep the $2.87 tax levy the same for the upcoming school year on Monday night.
"The $2.87 tax rate has remained the same for eleven years," Hadfield said. "I would recommend that it would stay consistent for this year."
Hadfield added that the district was able to keep it the same in part to conservative spending.
"We are very fortunate to have been fiscally conservative even in the face of some trying times in the past years. Even in trying times, been able to build up fund balance," Hadfield said. "Since we do have strong reserves and getting some sense of lake economy picking up, the $2.87 seems like a prudent tax rate to operate for our school district."
