  •  A 56-year-old Camden County man was arrested for one count of Attempted Unlawful Sex with an Animal and one count Attempted Animal Abuse.
The August 5 arrest is the result of an investigation that began in late July 2014 when an investigator with the Boone County Sheriff’s Department Cyber Crimes Task Force received a tip from a citizen reporting an unknown person had an ad on Craigslist wanting to perform a lewd act with an animal.
A detective with the Task Force masqueraded as an adult from the Columbia-area who exchanged numerous emails with the suspect. The suspect solicited the decoy to provide a particular type of animal to perform the lewd act and wanted to travel to Columbia. Arrangements were made with the suspect to travel to Columbia on August 5 to engage in the act.
Around 11:35 a.m., detectives with the Cyber Crimes Task Force met the suspect at a predetermined location and took the suspect into custody without incident.
The suspect is identified as  Jerald Lee Hill of Roach. The suspect was arrested on suspicion of Attempted Unlawful Sex with an Animal and Attempted Animal Abuse. Bond set at $1,000.
All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
