  • Tickets for the sixth annual Great Bagnell Dam Duck Drop are now available at eight area locations. The event is Saturday, August 2 and is organized by the Kiwanis Club of Ozark Coast. Bank Star One is this year’s Presenting Sponsor.
According to Duck Drop co-chair, Michelle Cook, the eight locations include: Central Bank of Lake of the Ozarks locations in Lake Ozark and Osage Beach; Bank Star One locations in Lake Ozark and Osage Beach; Paul’s Supermarket locations in Lake Ozark and Osage Beach; Hy-Vee (Osage Beach) and Randy’s Frozen Custard (Osage Beach).
“Tickets are $5 to adopt an individually-numbered rubber duck, which corresponds to your individually-numbered ticket that will race on August 2 for the $5,000 top prize” said Cook. “Second place is $1,000 and third place is a $500 Hy-Vee Supermarket gift card.”
Cook indicated that in all, there are twelve prizes, including gift cards to Paul’s Supermarket, Panera Bread and a boat rental from Glencove Marina.
This year’s festivities will include a golf tournament at the Cove Golf Course on August 1, a Family Fun Zone below the Dam and the annual Duck Drop 5K Run, the latter two activities on the day of the Duck Drop, August 2.
“The Fun Zone will be our biggest yet, with more inflatables and bounce houses, ponies, games, DJ and more,” shared Cook. “Admission to the event and parking is free. You can purchase a $5 wrist band, which allows for unlimited rides in the Fun Zone. Signage to Duck Drop viewing areas will also be well-marked. Bring the family!”
The Golf Tournament on Friday, August 1, also has some new twists.
“One of the new features of the Golf Tournament is the “Million Dollar” shot sponsored by The Wagner Agency (Farmers Insurance),” Co-chairman Mike Waggett said. “Plus, we’ll have numerous on-course contests, including a hole-in-one prize for a new Jeep Wrangler from Spieler’s Automotive and a $5,000 putting contest sponsored by Ellerman Roofing.”
All proceeds from the golf tournament and the Duck Drop ticket sales go to local charities, such as Big Brothers Big Sisters, the YMCA, Citizens Against Domestic Violence (CADV), Hope House, Wonderland Camp, Kids Harbor, Feed the Children, Christmas for Kids and more.
Registration forms for the golf tournament and the 5K are available online at www.GreatDamDuckDrop.com, at www.ozarkcoastkiwanis.org or from any club member.
The Kiwanis Club of Ozark Coast has served Osage Beach, Lake Ozark, and surrounding areas since 1988. The Club meets weekly at noon at the Ozark Yacht Club in Lake Ozark.
